PEP and PrEP are both experimental methods for preventing COVID-19 that involve taking medication. When you take measures to protect yourself against a disease, it is called prophylaxis. PrEP and PEP are types of prophylaxis for people who do not have COVID-19 but are at risk of contracting the virus. Please remember that PrEP and PEP do not replace preventative measures, such as wearing masks and gloves per public health guidelines. Please follow public health guidelines to protect yourself from COVID-19.
